Chiropractors are health care professionals. They are experts in diagnosing and managing conditions of the muscles, joints and nerves. Chiropractic care focuses on improving movement, reducing pain and restoring normal function using hands-on treatment techniques.
Chiropractors commonly treat conditions such as back pain, neck pain, headaches and sports injuries using a combination of spinal adjustments, manual therapy and rehabilitation exercises. Chiropractic is widely used for musculoskeletal pain and aims to improve how the body moves and functions.
In the UK, chiropractors must complete extensive training and be registered with General Chiropractic Council.
At Kasper & Gray Chiropractic, we help patients across Christchurch, Ferndown and the surrounding Dorset area improve their mobility, relieve pain and return to the activities they enjoy
Before starting treatment, a chiropractor will do a full assessment. This will involve taking details about your condition, current health and medical history, and performing a physical examination. Sometimes it may be necessary to refer you for other tests, such as X-rays, MRI scans or blood tests. It is important for your chiropractor to gather as much information about your back pain as possible so that the most precise diagnosis can be made (The British Chiropractic Association).
They are highly trained and spend a minimum of four years in full-time training in the UK. Chiropractors are strictly regulated by law. Our regulatory body is the General Chiropractic Council. Our chiropractors in Christchurch and Ferndown are registered with both the British Chiropractic Association and General Chiropractic Council.

Previously professions like chiropractic, osteopathy and physiotherapy were very different. However the professions are now very closely linked.
The best chiropractor, the best physiotherapist and the best osteopath should all be practising very similarly to each other. All three can provide pain relief through hands-on therapy, provide exercise rehabilitation plans and give lifestyle advice. At Kasper & Gray Chiropractic in Bournemouth, we use a range of techniques to deliver the best possible package of care.
Chiropractic adjustments help to restore normal joint motion and function. Mechanical and chemical irritation to the surrounding tissues is reduced as a consequence of the adjustment. The result of this is reduced pain and relaxed muscles. Spinal and extremity (upper and lower limbs) adjustments are normally just one part of our chiropractic care.
Chiropractic care is widely considered a safe treatment when performed by a qualified professional.
In the UK, chiropractors must be registered with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC). This regulatory body ensures chiropractors meet strict standards of education, training and professional practice.
Before treatment begins, your chiropractor will perform a full assessment to ensure chiropractic care is appropriate for your condition.
If your symptoms require another type of care, your chiropractor may recommend referral to another healthcare professional.
